In that instant when a Christian truly receives Christ in his life, he begins to see the brightness in the same way that Jesus restored the sight of a blind man who had exceptional faith in Him, who forcefully begged for mercy, saying, “Lord, I want to see” (Luke 18:42). His faith moved the hands of Jesus and after reinstating his sight, the blind man followed Him, and praised God, allowing others to also pay tribute to the goodness of God (Luke 18:43). In the same way, Christians would begin to follow Jesus and influence others the moment the Lord completely restored their spiritual eyes.
The body of Christ should stand as light of this world. The body can only illuminate if the eyes are good (Luke 11:34). So God reminds us from time to time not to focus on unnecessary things. Thus, Paul prompted all Christians not to fix their eyes on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what we can see is just temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).
When we have Jesus, we are living by faith, which at all times makes us, “ sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1).
Just as the blind man received his vision because of his faith, it is only through our faith that our spiritual eyes will be completely fixed and that restoration will bring brightness to us (Luke 11: 34). The pure joy of seeing Jesus and the truth completely rekindle a very gloomy life from the past, allows the brightness to head us to the right path, so that we will not slip on our way.
So here are some important points about a life full of brightness:
- A life full of brightness is about seeing joy by experiencing the power of faith. Seeing what we literally do not see but being certain of it, brings us real joy.
- People who do not want to see the truth are those who truly do not want to experience eternal joy. They will remain happy with what they can only literally see, but their delight will vanish when there is nothing they can make out.
- A life full of brightness is seeing the power of prayer with faith. The followers of Jesus believe that prayer can lead them out of darkness to a life abounding with pure joy because they believe in the marvelous promises of Jesus. For those who are weary and burdened, Jesus says that they should come to Him so that He could give them rest (Matthew 11:28). Jesus even gives a word to those who have faith in Him that they too will be doing what He does, and even greater, allowing them to ask anything in His Name and He will do it (John 14:12-14).
Our faith in Jesus gives us a remarkable life transformation, and our mission is to help others with the same transformation. Seeing this faith, is an astonishing turning point where a life sees the unseen and becomes grateful of it. There is brightness in a life with unwavering faith in Jesus because there is a strong drive to follow what He does, allowing those obedient to His words to claim God’s promise and divine provision and become the light of this world.
Truly, a life becomes bright and starts to shine vibrantly when there is Jesus; our Way, Truth and Life.
