Isaiah 40: 29-31
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
No matter what happens in life, one thing remains.
An incredible array of greening trees, gathered around lavender red buds, speckled the Smoky Mountains. An artist might capture the shades of evergreen, celadon, moss and fern. But only God can paint the promise of spring as it reflects light dancing across the hills. After a gray winter season, the breath of color and life renewed my spirit. My desire to pursue God reignites.
Sometimes I go through dark seasons. I may mourn the passing of a loved one, a dream broken or a failed relationship. Days where depression and a lack of energy darken my day, often keep me from focusing on the One who lifts me up. The one thing that sustains me through every circumstance is the hope that I have in Jesus. Knowing how much he cares about me, and that he has the power to carry me, brings me joy. When I hope in the Lord, he renews my strength. When I grow weary, he gives me rest. He makes my heart soar and my feet walk. No matter what happens in life, hope remains. Hope that only the Father gives.
