Surely, I come quickly… Rev 22:20
Every first Saturday at 1:oo pm it has become a habit for me to hear the city sirens. In case of a sudden city wide emergency these same sirens, tested every first Saturday, would be heard throughout the city. Typically, no matter where I am in the city or what I am doing, the sound of their boisterous alarm will raise my head or I will take a mental note of it recognizing their purpose.
Sirens in Revelations
In the book of Revelations Jesus gives off such call more dire than any city alarm. A message of warning to the entire world: “I come quickly”. He gave the warning seven times in the book of Revelation fighting to get the point across to His people, the world, all of mankind, that when He comes it will be too late for salvation, but right on time for judgement.
These words, I come quickly, are the blaring sirens in the bible. As believers in Jesus Christ, let us not be so laid back and relaxed in our salvation that we forget the commission of our Lord and forsake telling others about the saving grace of Jesus the Christ. Let us strengthen our voices to become as blaring sirens on Christ behalf. Let’s remember to let our light shine brightly that everything about us, from our living, our speech, our voices, be a siren to those who have yet to accept Jesus Christ.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, let my life be as a siren to the deaf, a light to the blind and direction to the lost. Let my life, this siren, be used as a tool at your disposal to save all You can. Amen.
